    My Dicentra Alba is beginning to flower but there are pods on some growth.What is the best thing to do about the pods?

    You can pick the pods off if you don't want it to seed everywhere, but it won't make any difference to it flowering - they only flower once so you can't influence that much now.

    It's been flowering a while for the seed pods to be that advanced. As JWK says they have a short blooming period and we're pretty much at the end of that period now.
    If you like the plant and want more allow the seed to ripen, collect it then sow in the autumn and place in a coldframe for spring germination.

        My "Ghost Bleeding Heart" is producing seed pods now ... :scratch: ... might have to have a go at collecting the seed, so thank you for that little bit of inspiration lonk :thumbsup: (fairly sure I'll have a cold frame come Spring time ... well, it is on my birthday and Christmas list :heehee: )

          If it's a mild winter a sheltered spot outdoors will be fine, or an unheated greenhouse.
