Shiney, id pree treat the bad slabs with a moss killer/ fungicide solution in advance of washing. I have used ecotherm with good success also MMC pro both from the following supplier, I suggest using this ATLEAST two weeks before pressure washing if poss a bit more:

If you apply the fungicide regularly every 6 months you will virtually prevent lichen and algal growth leaving only dirt to wash thus you can turn your machine pressure right down. I use ecotherm regularly on my contracts as it cuts down my pressure washing time.

Kristen the rotating brushes or whirl aways as they are refered are ok, however they halve the machines pressure thus don't expect miracles and be prepared to move forward at a snails pace.

If you use the regularly they are ok and help to keep things cleaner as there is less splashing, you'll still have to tidy up with a lance though.

Cheers Pro. Not a complete waste of money then!

I have a sloping perspex roof over conservatory that is a very long reach and a gentle slope, which attracts a lot of gunk and algae growth. I was thinking that a long lance and the rotating brushes might work as I can't get "up there" and aim a lance at it
