I have to agree with @redstar , after one has left a job, calling them to discuss past issues/clients/patients they have dealt with might be acceptable but it would be wrong to have conversations about new, confidential information.

Just my umble opinion...

 

It seems that access to sensitive material is being confused with security clearance. As soon as he left office he would have lost all access to sensitive material but (as is usual amongst intelligence and senior military staff) his security clearance would have remained in place (assuming that that person had not been dismissed of course).
By revoking this security clearance Trump has ensured that Brennan is no longer such a valuable recruit to the staff of the myriad private security contractors where it is possible to earn huge sums at all levels. The private security contractor sector is a massive growth area with governments worldwide (including the US and the UK) using them more and more to carry out potentially politically embarrasing operations, where official troop numbers have been reduced for reasons of political expediency or where deniability is required.
It was a venal act done out of spite - nothing more than that.

 

@longk aha... I see your point. Years ago I recieved "secret" clearance from our RCMP and there was no expiry date on my documentation. .

 

Just so John Brennan doesn't feel that it's personal the chump also has the security clearance of nine others 'under review'. By sheer coincidence all nine have previously been critical of him.
America becomes more like a dictatorship by the day - does anyone else wonder what he really talked about with his chums Lil' Kim and Vlad?

 

they disappear from view because the media chooses not to publish the good he does and loves to over inflate anything else. Obama did worse the media did not mention it at all.

 

Would never cross my mind to ever call anyone a MORON or and IDIOT. Its a shame that there are those people in the world who do that.

The danger that the chump represents is demonstrated by this article. When your pres thinks like that then hicks such as that woman will feel vindicated to think and act as she does - it normalises it.

First ---rather not comment on some of above as much is due to fake news etc. I know from watch BBC that much of what they state is fake about Trump. And second, guess the dog community is insulted by calling a human a "dog". Its my understanding that the use of this word has a wide berth of meaning, and is subjective. None of us really cares that he used that term. What is more important is the billions of dollars that Obama sent to Iran. Or the money Hillary sent to enemies of us, and the lies and cover-ups that keep surfacing. And Trump is not raciest ---again fake news.
