    Sal - you really excel with your tubers. I am very envious of your local shop. I spent an afternoon in Bradford, where I would have expected to have found some exotica, but found very little.

    Yes, I did see your thread on suran. The plant looks fantastic - let alone the flower. When I Googled it I saw it described as a yam - and I then lost myself in Googling yams - as I did see some being sold in Bradford. But they were Dioscorea - of which there are many species.

    I spent so much time Googling, I didn't have time to do any posting. :biggrin:

      Peters , just ask today about the alocasia and he told me that he saw some last week,
      told him to get me few more , finger cross ....

      ps ...yam is just a word for root , suran is actually the indian word for yam .......

            those are few variety I`ve tryed this year , all from the local asian shop , but bought in different months from November onward .
