Hi everyone, can you help me with this plant.

I got it about three years ago, it has never flowered (although this will be the first year it gets a decent amount of sun!)

I thought it was an eryngium alpinum, but I'm wondering if I got it confused with something else when I transplanted it into the container.
It grows lots of babies all around it, please tell me its not a weed! [IMG]

I think even a small eryngium would have notched leaves, when they're bigger the leaves are usually dissected.....but I'm only going by ones I've seen and pictures, I haven't had one!
    I'm sure it's not a weed! [IMG]

Definitely not an Eryngium alpinum, but the leaves do look like those of a plant we have which seeds itself around. Not a weed though.

    Thankyou Palustris and hans. [IMG]
The babies grow from roots (runners?) from the main plant, as I discovered when I took it out of its original position in the ground. Thats why I thought it may be a weed of some sort.

I'll post another piccy if it ever does flower. :D

Aaaaaheeem - sorry Berry that looks suspiciously like what I have labelled a weed that I get in my garden. I shall be interested to see if some one identifies it as a garden plant - cos mine have never any attractive flower or anything.

Thanks Fran, I'll look on the bright side and at least I'll have a free container to put something decent in. :D

Do you think I should give it a bit longer to see if it flowers, or turf it out now? (As I have a few seedlings that would welcome a bit of space to grow in)

What I'd do, is pop it in another small pot to see what it does just in case it turns into a magical plant - and use your container for your seedlings.
