Their website has been taken down 'for maintenance' already... It's been replaced with 'everything must go'

I simply can't believe that the people who took it over (fools!) thought that by not having products, trained staff or competitive prices they would succeed! My local store has only recently re-opened, it's definitely a case of style over substance.

    .
It was called Do it All then Focus and was taken over by buy out sharks, who loaded it with £200 million of debt which they took, loaned by some banks,it was all down hill from then!

The banks never learn, they lend money to these people who have no intention of paying it back, after a short time they usually walk and the company goes into receivership, then another load of sharks come along, buys it for a quid, get a loan from the banks and the merry go round is off again!

They even do it with football clubs, Liverpool and Manchester united are examples as well as Debenhams!

Think it was called Payless before that too!

Anyway, just been in to their 'everything must go' sale. I wouldn't bother if I were you! Prices still sky high; at the moment they have 20-25% off with the expectation that percentage will increase but the store closest to me just has the normal tat and even with the price cuts you can get everything cheaper elsewhere and at higher quality.

Ours is turning into an Asda (shop girl was kind enough to show me the bum pat in practice for the interview lol)

Called in at a Focus store this morning on the way to taking my daughter horse riding. I've never seen it so busy, there were even cars queuing up to get in the car park when we left.

It appeared to be only 10% of the outdoor garden stuff and 20% off everything indoors, but looking at the prices everyone would have probably been better off going to B&Q where it's normally always much cheaper (It was really quiet in there on Royal Wedding Day when it was 15% off everything), or Homebase (where it was 15% off everything today).

Why people were going mad to fill their trolleys completely escapes me, especially with the likes of electrical power tools - who are they going to take them back to if they go wrong?

We went in Focus Friday ,place was heaving, long queues at the tills and no trolleys,no change there then. :gaagh:

The plants were 10% off but as they were dead or dying no saving there, :heehee:

They have also stopped the 10% off for pensioners so in reality everything the same price :thud:

Think I will pop in Wilkos Tuesday see if there sale under way in our branch,:dancy: I always get something there, and I do need to stock up with Tomato food.:loll:

Focus sale must be doing something right
Having just bought myself a green house, I realised I needed a base for my shed (moving shed so green house can get the sunny position)

I got tanidised 4x4 timber from Focus at the 20% off, and knocked the base up in an hour
When placing the base,, I found my level garden drops 18" over 8', so I needed to build a brick support for it
No problem pop to FOCUS about 200yds from my house (I had all the bricks) just needed to get sand/cement or ready mix mortar

NO CHANCE,,, FOCUS must have it right
Several builders vans outside, the drivers in store with their own pallet and trucks, were stripping the place of sand cement mortar and roofing felt, so I was out of luck (bought 10L of cuprinol timber preserve for £8 though)

I now need to wait until I am off Saturday, and drive to Jewsons and back
DEAR was Cheaper for me, and now it is gone The store is one that is not to be bought over :-(

Last 6 days at our local store, so popped in today and there's next to nothing left, what there was condensed in to about 4 aisles. Everything 40-50% off; or so the signs say, but once in there one member of staff said a lot of stuff was coming up at much more off.

I picked up 10 half size rigid seed trays for £2 (20p each instead of 98p) and 4 packets of seeds for next year for £1 (priced up at 50p each but coming up at 25p on the tills; not bad considering a couple of packets had original prices of £3.69 & £3.99 :D) :thumb:

Visited our Focus store Friday night 19:00 could not move for painters and decorators buying up Dulux white paint 100 5l tins at a time 50% off

What was left available was rubbish fit for a skip, almost nothing left but I believe they are about to sell the fixtures and fittings, there are some excellent shelving for the green house, but I doubt I will manage to bag any

They were selling off dwarf green beans six to a 3ltr pot at 50p but not watered and almost brown so no sale
Moving next door to Homebase, they have Jamie Oliver peppers and chilli plants
the originals are at £5.50 but the ones that actually have three inch fruits? on are £2.50, same with the tomato plants for three , those with trusses on are down to half price, those without £5.50

I visited FOCUS to try to get some paving slabs, but the whole garden bit is sold out Homebase 18" x 18" £3 each
I am going to try Jewsons today
