ditch it and plant a red and a white bleeding heart in it's place instead ... flowers at a different time but just as nice and a lot smaller

              Tall fuchsia

Keep all you need to do is in Autumn and Spring every year give a good prune.

And be ruthless but not brutal.

              Fuchsias are beautiful and rewarding.

              I like it BUT

I like the one I have very much, and I am happy cutting it to the soil every Feb, only not only does it grow up to 12' by Oct it spreads below ground it was 12' wide at one time, and I am hoping to grow veg either side this coming season

I even dug it up once and it came back bigger :cry3:

              Can I have it? :)

Just what I want to go up against part of the fence in the back garden.

By the way, I've got a Delta's Sarah in a large pot. What's the best way to overwinter it? I've read you can keep them in little or no light (I'm thinking the shed) and then bring them back out into warmth and light once you want them to start growing. I really don't want to lose it as it's been so lovely. I'm going to take a cutting for a neighbour, and will also take a couple for myself (and luck!).

In the past I've had fuchsias in pots and left them outside all winter and they've come back, but that was when we lived in a flat and pots were on a balcony on their third floor so maybe more protected than they will be at ground level.

              You most certainly can,
I have no idea what "make" it is, just deep red fushia blooms about four inches drop,, it grows from nothing to 8' and full of blooms in about four months the blooms appearing mid August here in the North

If you are serious, then I will ask on here, etc what is best to do
send ball in soil root of cut down plant, or cuttings, and when to do it

It was born in 1976, when I helped myself to eight pieces of branch snapped off hanging over an old factory wall, stuck them in a jam jar of water on the windowsill, roots appeared on six, so I stuck three in the ground, and in months I had this giant
Not being a gardener, when it got to 12' high, I cut it down to 3'. and the next summer it was back up again, so I kept doing that, until in the end I cut it right down to the soil, hoping it would go away, nope next year it was back

CAN you get fushia "TREES" ?

Again if you really want to take this on you can have it
