    Hi All,

I have these Fuchsias (Display),4 of them and I use the right potting compost and give them fertiliser every 2 weeks. I do not see any buds appearing. Is it too early to expect new leaves (Mid-march) from the Fuchsia or is there something else that is going wrong. Really appreciate any help.

I have attached a photo of the Fuschia for you

    Regards,
    Shyam

    Hi,

Fuchsias can be quiet late in starting new buds, and if yours have been caught badly by frost etc you might find the existing stems die off, but you will hopefully get new shoots from below the soil, though they can again take time , more Arpil /May time if the weather is good, so do not throw yours away before then !

If you carefully rub a small area of the stems with your fingernail , the delicate brown outer 'bark' will come off and reveal a greenish colour, if that stem is alive.
If its a deep brown, then probably that section has died off and as said will hopefully shoot from the base.

Either way give it a month or two, placing the tubs in a more sheltered and warmer area will help it start off, would not feed it until you see signs of life.

Also use some slug control as they will go for the new tender shoots.

Thanks you Ricky. Yes, the stems are green. I will wait as you have suggested.
