    Hi there @Loopylupin , welcome:sign0016:.

Apparently it been a good year for Phormiums , lots of people have reported theirs throwing up flower spikes for the first time too.....must be the right combination of weather this year . My dad has one that my mum planted 20 yrs or more ago and his too is flowering. They are grown for their foliage really as the blooms are not all that special....but interesting non the less.:)

Yes I have to agree that the flowers don't match the impact of the foliage. The bees seem to love them....
which is always a good thing.

@Loopylupin lovely lupins. I don't grow them, because they get a lot of aphids.
        But i do like them.:)

@Kandy What a bounty - such a bountiful harvest and @Fat Controller 's raspberries are just unforgettably stunning.

It's a bit rich for the rich girl to cancel the concert. People booked hotels, arranged transport and all those and for her to cancel just like that must be heart breaking for her fans. Hard to call this one.. a lot of singers mime instead of singing live. Perhaps she could sing one or two songs live and mime the rest instead of cancelling her concerts.

@Loopylupin You've some nice lupins. After I have moved, hopefully I can get a lupin tree with more than 10 spikes .. Wouldn't that be dramatic.. I do like them when they are close and compact and with numerous spikes.

@Upsydaisy Such lovely planting in Kingston Lacey! I wish I had more heleniums.. Instead I have a bunch of rudbeckias which look a bit rough. Will take a pic tomorrow. Very nice photos of the water features, @Upsydaisy ! Bet your dad must be chuffed with the plant flowering.

@Logan You must have a lot of cosmos. I planted the bargain buys of chrysanthemum, phlox and geranium and have tidied up 90% of my pots.

yes I've got a lot of cosmos.:)Glad that I've finished planting them. Lovely pics, good that you enjoyed yourself.
I'm not surprised that Adele damaged her vocal cords with the shouting she does. A lot of suppose to singer's do that and they think they can sing.

A very dull day, a good respite for the plants. The garden is full of fragrance - lilies, honeysuckle, roses, jasmines - Fabulous!

Watched a bit of Poldark and saw Elizabeth Warleggan keep pouring liquid from a tiny bottle into her wine? Anybody knows what it is???

Think it is Laudanum, an opium based tincture that was very popular and 'cured/alleviated all manner of ailments'. Highly addictive!
