    Shiney you was definetley posh to be able to afford coal,my parents could only afford coke:snorky:We only had net curtains,no proper curtains,from what I can remember and didn't even have newspapers so there wouldn't have beenany of us holding a piece of newspaper to 'draw'the flames.Your parents were brave letting a five year old anywhere near an open fire,I just hope someone was supervising you.Mind you re reading your post it looks like you were having to do it on your own.Luckily for you,you didn't burn the house down:yikes:

    Nope. Maybe they were hoping to get rid of me. I don't think they thought about things being a danger to children. It was all about gaining experience in life. We used to spend our teenage years playing on the bomb sites.! :rolleyespink:


    We had them because my dad worked at home and had to have the papers and a telephone

    I was always considered posh because our toilet paper was torn up telephone books. :snorky:
