Happy New Year to all on GC !!!
We all will be glad to see the back of 2020. I imagine this month may be grim with increasing infection levels, but hopefully things will start too improve from February. And the covid year we have had can be consigned to history like the plagues/epidemics before it.

Has anyone else seen last nights firework display in London? It was kept secret. Quite poignant I thought.

I agree, it was money that could have been used elsewhere, especially with our current problems.

 

I thought it was a very emotional, thought provoking and a befitting farewell to what had been the most horrendous year that I , for one ,had ever had to live through.
It not only depicted the lows that we have all had to endure together but also served to deliver our endless appreciation and gratitude to those that have gone above and beyond ( and in some cases having had to go to hell and back) in their fight for our survival. They were there to support and comfort our dying when we could not do so ourselves, fought endlessly to save those that clung onto the very brink of life/ death, worked tirelessly to come up with vaccines that will provide us all with a future to look forward to. Not forgetting Sir Tom ...who undoubtedly broke through a personal pain/ endurance barrier of his own to raise a staggering amount of money to add to the very much needed NHS funds.......bless every single one of them..... that display was for you.
