      Aw thanks a lot Mike , really appreciate that.
      I will definitely look out for that. I do have a few other ( ordinary ) ferns and to be honest I don't know anything about them....it's a bit pot luck with me . I would like to propagate some, the seeds I believe are what can been seen on the back of the leaves.A book like that sounds perfect.:thankyou:

        @Upsydaisy

        Hi Upsydaisy,..i have Harts Tongue Ferns growing in most parts of the garden.
        Come Winter they start to die back and i tend to just leave them be,..but when Spring arrives i do cut back all the dead and damages leaves to help new growth to come up,..you could leave the dead and damaged leaves but apart from helping new growth to appear the old leaves are unsightly for a long time,..i have found one gets a bigger amount of leaves by cutting the old ones back,..images below.

          Thank you so much for your helpful reply Philip, yours are so lush looking!!!
          I might cut back this one before planting it out and then later in the year compare it's growth ( hopefully:fingers crossed:) with the other one that I remembered I had yesterday:whistle:that is in a border.

          :thankyou:

            I don't particularly look after mine but
            I cut them back to ground level every year they soon bush back up again. This is how they've overwintered so far.
