    I think it is probably re-production
    It weighs a ton, but it certainly looks the part and should last my lifetime :)

    Proper cast iron ... the weight is gi .. normous. I could barely raise one end off the ground
    We moved it by placing one end on a trolly, then passing a wooden post through two ropes which were passed underneath the other end. Then two people on each end of the post and one on the trolly and off we went :)
    My chances of actually getting to use it are extremely slim .....

    That is luvly Sam, Iremember finding a bit of marble which once upon a time was part of a victorian wringer for washing but had many a happy year as a frontage for my fireplace :D
