    Although Tommy was 'reported' to be in the stage musical for a time, as far as I remember, he never recorded 'Fings' but did record 'What a mouth' (not in the show but many linked it to the show - it was written about 50 years before Lionel Bart wrote the show). That recording also got to No.5 in 1960 three months after Max released 'Fings'. I think he was cashing in on the popularity of Cockney songs.

    I was lucky enough to see Tommy at the '2 i's'.

    If he ever gets around to adding more info to it (don't know if he's still around as haven't spoken to him for 18 months) he has some more info from me that he wasn't aware of.
