The piccies I saw of yours during this summer looked amazing.

I think you are achieving what I am planning (maybe you planned what I hope to achieve, too?!!)

Namely: The speed of Exotics means that whilst waiting for the rest of the garden to get established you can have Instant Exotic Garden in the meantime, so you have something to look at.

Dunno anything about it, although i did read up a bit. I put my seed-trays on top of the central heating boiler - the surface gets quite hot (so much for "well insulated to avoid wasting heat" !!)

I put a polystyrene mushroom-box, upturned, over the seed-trays to trap the heat from the boiler-casing; and took the seed trays "out" to a cooler location for 6 hours or so (to provide a "cool" period within each 24 hour period). It was certainly toasty-warn inside the polystyrene box morning/evening when the boiler was on, and relatively "cold" for 6 hours (or so) a day :)

I have read that getting 10% Nana seed to germinate is good. At the time I thought my 4-plants was poor, but I reckon I had less than 10 seeds, so 4 plants was probably actually quite a good result.

Either way, they grow blinking-quick once they get going!

"Oh forgot to mention those canna seed you gave me shiney's open day have done really well, no flowers but I have 6 strong plants to over winter now"

I've got loads of seeds. They aren't a particularly spectacular variety, but if you want to "bulk up" short term, and then replace with more prestigious things when time/money/opporunity presents let me know as I have plenty more seed I can send you.

For any Doubting Thomas's here's what you can get past your wife with a little practice :) Some pictures of " a few plants over-wintering in the conservaory" :dbgrtmb:

The annual Autumn update of my blog is done :).

I've added an "Autumn 2012 Tour", which I hope you will find useful (Direct Link)

Highlights, for me, was the planting of the Exotic Garden which then grew at an astonishing rate. We have also made a start on the Serpentine Maze, the Hydrangea Walk and the Fruit and Nut Walk. There are also updates on some previous projects.

I got in through your 'my blog' link and things are progressing brilliantly :dbgrtmb:.

I feel tired just looking at all the work you've done :love30:. Just an hour of raking in my garden yesterday was enough for me! :old:

I can't seem to get in through your 'Direct Link' link. It may just be my computer as it's playing up a little bit this morning.

Can anyone else follow the link? Copy here: (Direct Link)

Works fine here, but that's no proof of anything of course, I may have mucked up the permissions or somesuch.

Last year folk from another forum said they all got some flashing advertising banner, no one else has ever told me about that, but as far as I know there has never been any advertising on Wordpress ...

... but it would be very helpful if folk speak up if there is either advertising or any issue accessing it. I've been thinking for some time that I should set up a blog to function the way I want, but so long as Wordpress "just works" its more work than I can contemplate and I'd prefer to spend the time growing stuff instead :)

Thank you. Well worth waiting for Kristen. Even though it's howling with wind and rain outside, I can forget it all when I'm in your beautiful Exotic Garden,
            sheer magic,

Thanks for all your kind comments. Have to say though ... it's all a bit grey looking out of the window today!

Must Must MUST finish my seed-sowing spreadsheet today, so I can then start sowing some things (in the right order - so the slow ones start first and the fast ones don't get leggy before better light arrives ...)

Very odd. The two links are identical (I even compared them electronically in case I was staring at a glaring difference ...)

I trust no one sees and advertising? Sorry to ask, but I don't know if there are some cookies on my PC that mean I see it differently, as owner, to everyone else.
