I've just received this e-mail

Dear Customer,

We noticed that a different computer has tried to access
your online banking but failed with wrong identity challenge during
the process. You now need to verify your Online Banking Identity.

If this is not completed on or before Jan 20, 2019 We will be forced to temporary suspend
your account for further verification, to avoid being used for fraudulent purpose.


Thank you for your understanding as we work together to protect your account.

I've never had a Nat West bank account.

I replied with a two word answer.

Doghouse, unsafe link in your post "Verify My Accounts" you might want to edit it and remove the actual link but leave the words.

Next you'll receive an identical email, but from Barclays, then one from HSBC, etc., etc.

 

Well, I've got a letter from a fellow in Nigeria. For only a few thousand, I can get access to my rich, dead relative's millions

 

Just some fellow? I've got an email from a pukka Nigerian bank! Plus the Heritage Lottery who've got loads of cash waiting for me, PLUS a downloadable Wyevale voucher that I can use to get loads of free stuff from a certain garden centre.

P.S. One of those is not a scam (well, not their scam).

 

Getting a lot of 'we've hacked your PC and for £X hundreds we wont send the video of you while you were viewing and adult website to your mailing list'

They've done well to get the video footage as theres no camera on this PC and no dodgy websites are visited.

Still, some must pay up - guilty conscience / fear of being 'exposed' and all that

 

I've got a sticky note over the camera on this lap top and a piece of electric tape on the one in my tablet. I originally did it because I accidently put it on and then saw myself , didn't like what I saw and never wanted to go through that orrible experience again!

 

As a rule of thumb I would not click on any links on an Email . If you think it is legit then Google their real website and search on there for whatever they were trying to push.

 

Our eighty-odd year-old widowed neighbour, has had one of those too!

 

Another scam, you may get phone call from a male who says he from BT about your slow broadband also a scam, we report it to BT

 

I just had that one. I told him I couldn't hear a word he was saying and he put the phone down!
