Lawn dressing disaster!

I put down some lawn dressing last week and must have put it down too thickly as it has scorched the lawn really badly!

I can overseed but fear that the lawn won't recover and seed will die off too.

Any ideas??

That is a really bad scorch, bad luck NCFC. One reason why I only use liquid feed.As JWK said you have to let the high feed levels get down to near normal . I think at this time off year you could only reseed next spring. Maybe our lawn gurus can give better advice.

 

If you don't want to wait you could dig out the damaged areas and use new soil and a compost mix, then re-seed. It's late in the season though and seed is very slow to germinate now as it needs a minimum temperature of 12C. Overnight temperatures are also down to single figures which won't help. It would probably be better to leave it until next spring or use turf.
