Just to remind others that Leopard Slugs are a good addition to the garden unlike the rest of these pesky creatures. No doubt like everybody else slugs are bad here this year. I was busy removing various ones which were happily eating my clumps of Iris when I came across a Leopard slug eating another slug which reminded me they are good to have around. I think I'm also correct in saying they don't eat healthy plants either. I was taught about "friends and foe" in gardens during a talk given by a professional gardener many moons ago which has been very useful over the years.

Pretty sure if they get low on food they will eat plants as well.

Caught one with a worm halfway down it's throat :hate-shocked:

Mind you, everything else eats worms so there must be enough of them.

Those very large black/brown slugs also eat other slugs.
Best bait for slugs is..............slug juice. On my walk this morning, a farm vehicle must have driven down the lane a short time before me. the road was covered in crushed slugs and snails, all of them surrounded by other slugs feasting on the remains.

That's the concern with these new spanish slugs isn't it? they can cause traffic accidents because you get a couple run over which attract hundreds of other slugs which then can create a sort of slick across the road which cars slide on...

Ooh! I came across one of these fellows just the other day. I did not kill him because he was not on my plants. Is this a leopard slug? I didn't catch him in any cannibalistic acts...
