If you chop the mint back a bit, and move it now, and keep it well watered, it will be ok. The lavender will move any time but you'll lose the flowers if you move it now. Buddleja will survive just about anything, but again the flowers will suffer if you move it now, and I have no idea what the other plant is.

Of course it would be best to wait a couple of months or so for all of them, but I reckon the first three will survive if you move them any time, as long as they get well watered in to their new homes.

Have you got a pic? Purple toadflax is a common wildflower round here, not sure how common it is there, but it fits your description of the mystery plant.

If you can choose then the best time to move stuff is when they are dormant. Generally autumn is ideal, as it gives the roots maximum time to recover before the following growing season.

Mint & buddleia are pretty much indestructible, the lavendar I would wait till autumn.

Perhaps you should post the other plant in the Identification sub forum.

If the Buddleia is in a pot you can plant it any time. If it is pot bound it will probably give a sigh of relief.

I always wait till Autumn but only because it is easier when a plant is dormant.

Pot grown plants can be changed anytime but i prefer a rainy day so that nature takes care of them.Infact the rain we have had here of late would have had me racing round the garden moving things at one time, but not now:) i have a low maintenance garden.:ntwrth:Too old ha ha.

Ming if you're worried about maybe loosing some the plants then why not take some cuttings of them before you move them?

The ideal time is normally after flowering, take young shoots off the parent plant and dip them in rooting powder, then pop the cutting into a plant pot and you will be rewarded will a few extra young plants just in case. Its very easy to do honest!

If the main plants transplants ok then you can always give your baby plants away to friends, family on even some lucky soul on Freecycle! Hel.xxx
