    Hi Kevin,
Sorry I went off earlier needed to get sorted out mate ;) and sorry to hear about your mom but now it looks like you've recovered from that and ready to move on with your life to the way you want to enjoy it and gardens are always a pleasure...my hubby loves to see a nice garden but never uses ours with me as he can't sit still :snorky: always on the go

A nice water feature would look nice and there's been plenty of discussions on GC about them to help you along the way.

What do you mean (no window for security)

      Hello @Gail_68

Sorry, I just read that again about the Shed window and it does sound odd.

What I meant is that when I ordered the Shed I requested that there be no window to improve the security since people will not be able to see into it.

Hopefully that makes more sense :)

      Thanks

      Kevin

Yes it makes more sense to me now mate ...so you really need a solar light you can put outside in the day then put in the shed when needed for the bonus of light.

My hubby if you know anyone who does electric's...did a double socket coming through the back bedroom wall from the socket there to a double socket outside with a cap and he just gets his extension lead with 4 socket heads...leaves the main head lodged in the shed but puts the main lead in the socket on the wall :)

Well, Kevin, I am a tad excitable and I was rehearsing digging, waving around and handling the spade oblivious to anyone else being there and just missed hitting someone with it :). You sound a whole lot more sensible than me so you wont do this.

Ha ha, not quite as tall as you......you beat me by 4" kevin......:snorky:

I have had my spade for a few years now and just checked for brand but could see no label.

I understand a little about autism......i know quite a few folk with autism....so I sympathise with your reluctance to go into shops and stores. If you can though, maybe get someone to go with you, it would be best to go into B & Q or other stores and check out what they have there. Firstly, go for stainless steel, then see how it feels to handle. Its not the end of the world if you find it difficult to choose. You can ask staff in the store for their opinion. Just dont go for the cheapest or the most expensive and you will be fine.:)

If it helps, check online and let us know what you think suits you and we can suggest if,its a good one:)

            Hello @Gail_68

            Thanks for the reply.

I have actually found some Solar Shed Lighting where the light is fitted inside the Shed and the small Solar Panel is mounted on the roof so I think that may be the easiest method.

Glad I was able to clarify the Shed windows comment better :)

            Thanks

            Kevin

              Hello @Verdun

              Thanks for the reply.

Lucky you were not testing chainsaws :)

The garden tools I have been looking at are the Bulldog Solid Forged Premier Tools.

I have done some quick reading about Stainless Steel tools and it has been mentioned that these are not suitable for hard ground which I currently have, however, as I will be getting someone in to do the initial preparation hopefully that would not be an issue.

I have also seen mention that some Stainless Steel tools are welded and as such are not as strong.

One make of Stainless Steel tools I have looked at, albeit briefly are Wilkinson Sword.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

              Kevin

Wilkinson Sword is another good make....I have secateurs, trowels and more from them and they are excellent

                          Hello @Gail_68

Just a quick update with pictures, as promised :)

                          This is the old fencing:

And this is the new, as of today:

This is now the front garden:

And, for completeness, the new Shed:

I have been trying, for years, to get this all done and now I am finally starting :)

                          Now onto the garden itself.

                          Thanks

                          Kevin

Hi Kevin, it looks lovely mate...your old fencing was like ours here as both neighbours didn't bother, so we sorted the garden first plus we had the dog then and finally the fencing.

Your fencing and posts are identical to ours and they've been treated again this year with a lovely colour.

@Kevin Cowans I forgot to mention when doing your garden to help cut weeding out...we lined out boarder and put pea gravel down mate, you can still add your plants but I was thinking in regarding with weeding :)

                                Hello @Gail_68

                                Thanks for the reply.

I am really pleased, especially with the Shed.

It is very solid and was made to order by the local Family Owned Timber Yard who our family has known for 50 years or so.

As for the fencing it is Tanalised Wood so I do not think I am going to stain it and just let it keep its natural colour.

                                Kevin
