Dare I risk saying it? These two look as though they know what they are doing. :)

That sounds like a good idea and I know it will suit your liking of continuity having it all the same. It's also a practical time, with the garden being in upheaval while the work is going on, to have it finished with new lawns.

It'll be good to see the finished work.

      Hello @Sheal

The preparation that these Landscapers did was so much more comprehensive than the original people.

The Owner of the Company also gave me a really good price for doing the two Lawns and the section inside the Back Gate at the same time so it was really an easy decision to go ahead with it.

It has stretched me slightly, financially, but it will be so worth it.

      More updates to come.

      Thanks

      Kevin

It's coming on well Kevin and the weather looks as if it's behaving too. I hope I haven't just jinxed it by saying that.

          Hello @Sheal

Put it this way, if it rains on Monday and Tuesday, I now know who to blame

On Monday, assuming it is dry, it will be Pointing the Patio and Paving, complete the Paving down the side of the House and installing of the Setts in the Back and Front Gardens.

If all goes to schedule on Monday then the Lawns will be laid on Tuesday followed by a tidy up.

          Thanks

          Kevin

I don't mind taking the blame. I must admit it would be nice to have some summery weather here. It can't make up it's mind whether to rain or shine and makes things difficult when lawns have to be mowed.

You really need it dry for the pointing to be done so I'll keep my fingers crossed for that.

          Hello @Sheal

The Pointing is being done with Romex Rompox Easy (Basalt) which needs the Paving to be wet to apply it.

I still do not want Rain but for Pointing it should not be an issue.

The Weather here, currently, is Sunny all Next Week reaching 28 Degrees on Friday.

I hope they are wrong about Friday as I do not handle Hot Weather well, at all.

          Thanks

          Kevin

I assume the basalt is a dry mix which is why the paving needs to be wet?

I don't like hot weather either. Comfortably warm and sunny would be nice though. :)

            Hello @Sheal

From what I understand, to apply the Resin Pointing you need to:

            • Wet the Paving
            • Open the Vacuum Bag (It sets when exposed to Air) and tip the contents onto the Paving
            • Keep applying Water and brush the Pointing Compound into the gaps
            • Allow the water to force the Pointing Compound down into the gaps
            Sounds straightforward, right?

I walked around the Back Garden this Evening, not on the Slabs.

Unfortunately, I noticed a Slab with a significant chip on the adjoining edge.

Reluctantly, I contacted the Owner Landscaper and he has said that they will replace the Slab with a new one on Monday.

I had Ordered 25 new Slabs and by the time all the work is completed I will have 10 or so left.

Thankfully, the Place I purchased them from has said they will take back any unused Slabs.

There is a £50 Re-Stocking Fee but at £20 a Slab, I should still get £150 (ish) back.

I am still very shakey, as i really do not like raising issues but at least the Owner knows of my issues and is understanding of them.

The projected Temperatures for Next Week are going down, slightly still not enough though, for me atleast.

            Thanks

            Kevin

Kevin, I understand how the resin works. It's similar to using a dry mix cement.

It's good that you can return any unused slabs but may I suggest you hold on to some. Should one of those being laid now get damaged in the future you would have replacements to hand. Especially if production of them is stopped in the future.

Raising issues is never easy but on occasions it has to happen and you've done well to handle it, if a little shakily. We pay out good, hard earned money for these things to be done properly and you were right to raise the problem. Also better now than when they've completed the work and gone.

            Hello all

            I hope you are well.

Well, if I did not have Bad Luck, I would have no Luck at all :wallbanging:

It appears as though the Garden Tap has developed a Leak.

I contacted the Plumber who has done work for me before and he will replace the Tap and the Internal Piping which was done by the Council, badly, when they did my Soundproofing, for £85.00.

The Landscapers have been turning the Tap Off at the end of their Day, not that it is the fault of the Landscapers, I mean, how would they know it would cause issues, but turning it On and Off multiple times since Wednesday has probably just pushed the Tap over the edge.

Also, the Plumber tells me that it is not actually a Garden Tap, it is meant for internal use, how it has lasted 34 Years is a miracle, although, I have had multiple issues with it over the last few Years.

I am going to arrange for the Plumber to come and replace it once the Landscapers have finished their work, probably Wednesday(ish).

There is always something, all I want is some peace when I have nothing to worry about, it is never going to happen but it is nice to dream

            Thanks

            Kevin

              Hello all

I hope you are all well.

I only have one Photo to update with Today as they are now working down the side of the House and in the Front Garden where I do not have a Camera.

Anyway, this is how the Back Garden now looks:

              13-06-2022_12-31-34_0001.jpg

The Landscapers will not be here Tomorrow (Tuesday) as they are attending a Course so they will be back on Wednesday to lay the Lawns and tidy up.

              Thanks

              Hi Kevin,

Your tap has done really well to last that long. Plus as you say, it's not a garden tap.

You have had a lot of bad luck, but it will improve. The last eighteen months haven't been good for me or my family, with one issue after another, but it will pass eventually and settle down.

The landscapers have done a fine job relaying your patio, it's looking good! :)

              Hello @Sheal

I hope things improve for both you and your Family, sooner rather than later.

On top of everything else that has gone wrong, the Latch on the Outdoor Socket has snapped off meaning that the cover will not close properly.

I am going to have to get the Unit replaced, probably later this Month, hopefully it stays dry.

Today should be the last Day for the Landscapers with the work including the Pointing, laying the new Lawns, Back and Front and then a tidy up.

Well, the Landscapers have just got here.

There will be no Turfing done Today, or this Week as it is too Hot.

Also, Friday is supposed to be 32 Degrees, I will be sleeping in the Drawer in the Freezer that Day.

Instead the Turfing will, hopefully, be done Next Week.

Today will be the Pointing and preparation for the Lawns.

              All Fun :wallbanging:

              Kevin
