    Hello all

    I Hope you are Well.

It is Finally getting to the Time when I will be giving the Lawns their First Cut of the Year.

I am planning on Cutting the Lawns once the Green Bin is Emptied, also for the First Time of the Year, Next Thursday, 13 March.

The Lawns are looking a little worse for wear, probably due, in part, to the Leather Jacket Infestation I had in the Autumn (2024).

The Lawns contain the following Grasses:
    • Dwarf Ryegrass
    • Creeping Red Fescue
    • Chewings / Red Fescue
    • Smooth Stalked Meadow Grass
    • Common Bentgrass
Do you Think that I should Overseed the Lawns, I have the Exact Seed Mix of the Lawns, or should I just leave the Lawns alone?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

    Hello all

    I Hope you are Well.

I have been out in the Back Garden for a few Hours This Morning and have almost Finished getting it ready for Spring :phew:

This is how the Back Garden looks now:

    1#1$20250309121739745.jpg

I have the area at the Bottom of the Garden, next to the Shed to do where a Spreading Cotoneaster has Grass growing through it.

I will do that Area once the Green Bin is Emptied for the First Time This Year on Thursday.

I just need to Tidy the Front Garden now which is also Waiting for an Empty Green Bin.

I have managed to, Finally, Level the Front Lawn where the Small Weeping Cherry was Removed.

Two 25KG Bags of 70/30 Top Dressing does not go far, at least I now know for Next Time.

The Lawn Lute was a real Help with this Job, however, it was Hard Work to Push around, at least it is now done.

After it was Levelled I Sowed Grass Seed and am going to Water it Twice a Day for a Couple of Weeks and see how it goes, Hopefully Well, Hopefully.

    Thanks

    Kevin

      Hello all

      I Hope you are Well.

I have been having some difficulty getting access to Leaves behind Shrubs etc. so.....

This Morning, my Sister was kind enough to take me to a relatively Local Garden Centre (Branton) which also has a Mower Shop.

I have picked up a Mountfield MBL 50 Li Leaf Blower which uses the same Battery as my Mountfield 34 Li Lawn Mower.

It will definitely make removing the Leaves much easier.

I just need to remember not to use the Highest Setting as it Blows Soil too :wallbanging:

      Thanks

      Kevin

              Hello all

Thanks for the Replies and the Kind Words, it is appreciated :)

Going on Past Years the Back Garden seems to look its Best around June, Hopefully that holds True this Year too.

I have also just got back in from Pressure Washing the Patio, Paving and Setts, I did Pressure Wash it all in Late February but that was more of a Clean to stop it being Slippery with Algae etc.

The Front Lawn is still struggling after being decimated by Leather Jackets Last Year, it is recovering albeit Very Slowly

I think what gets me down most with the Front Lawn is not so much the Damage caused by the Leather Jackets but the Fact of how it looked prior to the Leather Jackets compared to how it looks now, after all it was a New Lawn in 2022

It also has Moss and Weeds in it now where they seem to have taken advantage of the bare patches left after the Leather Jackets :wallbanging:

              All Fun

              Kevin

You should see my garden - it is currently like a cross between a refuse site and a bin fire... I don't have a lawn as such, but more a scruffy green bit in the middle.

                  Hello @Fat Controller

I think, due to my Autism and seeing Detail that mostly goes unnoticed by others, I tend to have things Neater than is probably the norm, Hopefully that makes Sense :dunno:

                  Thanks

It certainly does. A number of my staff are autistic, which is the very reason they are so good at our particular job, so I understand possibly better than most folks. Your attention to detail is certainly paying off as your garden is impressive.

                        I Hope you are Well.

Well, the Company I had Booked for the First Week in June to Re-Point the Patio, Paving and Setts never showed :fingers crossed:

I Emailed them but got no Reply

Why are Companies so unreliable :noidea:
