    Hi Kevin,

I'm sorry you're not having much luck with you patio issues and it's a shame you've been let down again. We have a local website for chat, news and recommendations etc. and have recently had work done by an electrician and plumber. Both were recommended and both efficient and reasonably priced. Perhaps you may have something like that in your area.

I can sympathise totally re workmen not responding etc @Kevin Cowans . Hopeless.
I also understand the 'neat' thing as I'm also on the spectrum. Being pernickerty about small things that others wouldn't give a toss about. I desperately fight it, but I like straight lines and uniformity so it can be awkward at times!
It's infuriating when there's things you can't do yourself, but the people who can do it are useless. That's the polite term...
Your garden is still fantastic, so take some pride in that and give yourself a pat on the back for your hard work paying off. Gardening can be very frustrating at times though!

      Hello

      Thanks for the Replies.

      @Sheal

I just wish I could get to a place where everything is as I want it to be but I fear that will never happen

I am not aware of such a Site in my Area but I will have to check, maybe my Sister is aware of one.

      @fairygirl

I am the total opposite of you regarding Straight Lines, in my Eyes there is no such thing as there is always a deviation no matter how small, that is why my Patio is shaped as it is :)

It is true what you say about doing things yourself and having to rely on others.

I am looking at replacing my TV, a 49" LED with a 55" OLED.

I can set them up with no issues, after all Technology is my thing :)

Lifting them by myself and placing, or removing, them on the Desktop VESA Stand is difficult to do and at 14.1Kg it really needs Two People.

Thanks for the Kind Words regarding my Garden, I have a few Issues I am trying to sort but overall it is looking as I would like it.

      Kevin

I know what you mean about those small deviations @Kevin Cowans !
We come in all shapes and sizes don't we? It's always about working with what suits us, our preferences and our circumstances. :)

I just noticed your quote about the question not asked. I always told my children when they started school that the people who ask questions are the smart ones, not the stupid ones. That always felt right to me because how do you learn anything if you don't ask questions about something you're not understanding? :)

Good luck with getting things sorted.

          Hello @Alisa

Thanks, do you mean the Weigela in the Foreground.

I am letting the Shrubs Grow Out and then I will just Prune to Tidy them.

I am Planning, which Never goes to Plan, to have Security Cameras Installed in the New Year, Front and Back, the updside being that the Weigela in the Back Garden will no longer obstruct the View of the Garden.

          Thanks

          Kevin

I like neat @Kevin Cowans so your garden looks beautiful to me.I like the way the planting has softened some edges and enhanced other spaces. Job well done.

            Hello

Thanks for the Replies and the Compliments, it is appreciated.

Unfortunately, due to a rough Year, again :wallbanging:, I was not able to do much in the Garden Last Year, something that I am Hoping to remedy This Year, Hopefully

I was not able to Cut Back the Herbacious Perennials in the Autum, however, the Seed Heads seem to have attracted a fair few Birds so that actually worked out well.

Also, I will Hopefully see some Self Seeders This Year, i.e. Verbena Bonariensis, Echinacea etc.

I am probably going to leave Cutting Back until the First Week of March, mainly due to my Health, I will have a bit more Time, but also because the Green Bins do not start being emptied again until 12 March This Year.

After the Cutting Back, Weeding and General Tidying I will Hopefully be looking at Filling some of the Empty Spaces in the Borders.

So, I will be Adding more Heuchera, Christmas Rose, Echinacea, Penstemon and Phlox.

I am also determined to get the Seating sorted This Year which has been Delayed for a Couple of Years now, so, I am looking at the Summer for that, Hopefully :)

I am looking forward to finally getting out in the Garden again, as it helps me to Relax, something I am in need of.

            Thanks

            Kevin

Glad to have you back, @Kevin Cowans , we have missed your updates!

Not that there has been much of any gardening happening anywhere in the past months... the winter has been rough. Thankfully the new season is just around the corner now :)

                Hello @Selleri

Thanks, I am Hoping to have more Updates going forward, Hopefully.

It has been Frustrating seeing the Garden as it is and knowing that I am unable to do anything so the sooner March gets here the Better.

You are in good company; the great (once you've acquired the taste) composer Stockhausen designed his own house, instructing his architect to avoid right angles at all cost; so, there isn't a single one in the whole house or stairs.

Looking forward to your usual photographic progression; just six or seven short weeks before it all starts again (I don't know about up North, but the winter down here in London has been very kind to us so far, and we have already gained 55 minutes of daylight since December 24th!).

                    Hello @LawnAndOrder

                    Thanks for the Reply.

In Doncaster, I am in DN3, the Weather has not been too Bad really, at the moment it is Forecast Rain all Next Week, much the same as Last Week.

However, we all know how reliable Weather Forecasts are :wallbanging:

I remember, maybe 10 Years ago, maybe less, the Met Office was bragging about how they could reliably Forecast the Weather for the Next Month, now, it seems, more often than not, that they are not able to Forecast the Weather for the Next Day

I find the most reliable Weather Forecast is the one where you look out the Window :)

                    All Fun

                    Hello all

                    I Hope you are Well.

I just had a Walk around the Garden to see what needs addressing, there is a lot :wallbanging:

I will get there though, that I am sure of.

One issue I saw was Grass growing in the Middle of Plants, specifically Phlox.

What is the Best way to Remove Grass when it is Growing in the Middle of a Plant?

I assume that I could Lift the Plant and then Remove the Grass and Re-Plant, but any other ways?

I have pulled the Grass previously but it has, obviously, Grown back :wallbanging:

                    Thanks in advance

                    Kevin

I would gently try to pull grass out with my fingers pressing the soil around grass down, so that decorative plants' roots don't get damaged much. It's what I usually when grass grows inside clumps of other plants. Isn't it natural? Regular weeding is our tool.

                    Hello @Alisa

                    Thanks for the Reply.

I have tried your Method previously, when I was able and unfortunately, it did not work.

Maybe if I Water the Soil the Day before to soften the Ground before Weeding?

                    Thanks
