The grass will grow back if you don't get all the roots out (also if it's been allowed to drop seeds) but pulling it regularly (as soon as it appears) should gradually weaken it, if you don't have the energy to dig up the plant and thoroughly clean the roots to get all the grass roots out.

There used to be a weed killer that killed only grass and it's relations, not broad-leaved plants, but that's going back a long time and I think it was discontinued/banned a long time ago. The only other thing you might try is weed-killering the grass, very carefully with a fine paintbrush or similar, so you don't get any on the plant that you want to keep. I think it would be quicker and easier to do the digging up, or just keep pulling out the grass.

    Hello @JennyJB

    Thanks for the Reply.

I think Digging the Plant up and removing the Grass will be the way to go.

Is there anything I need to be aware of when Digging up Phlox?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin
