    Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone know why my irises are not flowering. They didn't flower last year and I've been waiting in anticipation this year. Unfortunately no sign of flowers! The plant foliage looks okay, they get part-sun and have flowered in the past.
I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with stubborn irises! :roflol:

Also, the plant needs well-drained soil in full sun for flowers to be produced. Irises in shady locations may fail to form blooms. Depth of planting can also cause iris plants not flowering. Rhizomes should be near the soil surface, ideally with the tops at or slightly below the soil surface.

Mine haven't flowered either, I got them last year from a village summer fair, I think I have
planted them at the correct depth (half the Rhizomes are showing) they are still in the
pots from when I potted them last year, but so far they have failed to flower
and are in full sun :(
Maybe they need potting into bigger pots or are better suited in the ground?

I have others with I inherited when I moved into the property and these are
under the light shade of a tree yet still seem to flower ok.

Remember, the season is late. Prob 4 to 6 weeks later than usual so patience might be in order here.

I had iris in flower earlier but have several clumps without any sign of flower yet I fully expect they will do.

If they are in sun for most of the day and not planted too deeply or overcome by ebullient neighbouring plants, they should flower :)
