I planted a second Nelly Moser clematis to climb up my north facing trellis. After pruning in Feb all was going well......... then it stopped growing and the growing tips became knarled , like little club feet ( see pic ) , and growth terminated ! Any idea what this can be ? Any cures ? I have cut it back this morning to the last healthy looking growth.
