    I have a water butt.
I have a sack of well rotted horse manure.

It has been suggested to me that I put the sack of horse manure in the water butt, to act as a giant tea-bag, so to speak. Then, when I draw off water for the plants, it feeds as it waters.

Maybe everyone is already doing this?
Maybe it is a totally hairbrained idea?

Hi Jack. I think it would be better to pee in the waterbut and to put the manure on the garden. :D

Manure is really more of a soil conditioner than a fertiliser. That is to say the organic material is very good at improving the soil and helping to retain moisture. A lot of the fertiliser content comes from the horse urine, which contains nitrogen. But if it has been left outside to mature most of this will have been washed away by the rain. You own pee should be as good as the horse's, but you will have to practice a bit to match the volume. :D
