Thanks, they do a '5 Year Duck Back' product, I guess 10 litres would see me through? :)

I have used Ducks Back on my shed , it covers well with a nice waxy finish, It does last I need to do mine again this year - after 6 years .
Some oil based finishes are very very expensive Osmo and Sikkens etc . I bought a litre of a Sikkens product last year from Screwfix at a bargain price . This was to paint my garden gate , but can I find the tin now ! It's in that safe place I can never find . Not a great bargain if you lose it ! :gaah:

Thanks, funnily enough I just found three large green containers of Cuprinol in the garage, left there by my late father. The liquid is for spraying (a fence) but I can't see why I can't paint it onto the greenhouse woodwork - it should be ideal?

That's what I use on my 10 x 8 ( preserved wrought softwood t&g boarding) shed. I only use water based treatment on rough sawn boarded sheds (and fencing) as I find it flakes off smooth wrought timber external surfaces (OK internally).

Thanks. Also decided to leave those roof-glass blocks on, but re-secure them by drilling then inserting screws into them. They're only held in place by nails. The main thing is to get a coat of treatment into the wood before the autumn sets in, I don't think the greenhouse will appreciate another winter as it is.

When we moved there was lovely old Greenhouse, i started by washing off all the Algae, then wire brushed her down. Im not sure what stain i used, as i had some in the shed, but she came up like new.

Many thanks. I have now secured the roof glass with screwed-in plastic buffers at the edge of the roof, so at least I won't have plate glass raining down on me when I replace the crumbling wooden retainer blocks. Bit at a time. ;)
