    Hey, you wonderful lot!

I've been trying to work out if I can still order seeds online from the EU (to the UK) without any problems. Since I believe we are in some sort of legal/legislative transition period, have any of the rules changed regarding ordering seeds, especially tree seeds?

    Thanks for any help!

I do not think that is possible right now..I have ordered items from the UK via a UK good friend, who, when it's allowed for them to travel over to their French Holiday Home will bring for me my orders....It is a fact we can not send parcel via la Poste to the UK right now...will change I feel...

Thanks for the reply! That is a shame! I've seen that some nurseries have stopped shipping seeds to the EU from the UK entirely because of the change in rules as well!

This I find is one of those awkward matters. In the horticultural world. The USA have been very hard on their import/export laws and also the casual visitor, attempting to smuggle seeds etc through customs. I believe many british companies inter trase with the EU and others. So, might it not be easier to buy via british for the time being.

It depends on which tree seeds you want and whether they come under the regulations but the more important thing is whether they will bother to sell to you at the moment. If they will there is likely to be a chagre imposed for duty on them.

Can't you buy them over here?

I emailed the website I wanted to get seeds from again since I ordered from them earlier last year, they happened to email back this morning to say that it's still fine to order from them but after April I will require a certificate (about 40-50 EUR).

Believe me, I have been trying where I can - and successfully so! Though I ordered from Plant World Seeds and I've not heard anything from them for over 10 days now, not sure what's going on?

I ordered in December and got the seeds the next week. With Covid restrictions and this being time of year when people order seeds they could just be busy.
Also I got an emailed acknowledgment of the online order, but then nothing until the seeds appeared on the door mat.

Yeah, that's been going through my mind since I wouldn't be the only person to think January = buy more seeds! I'll just have to be patient, I think it's a tad too early to start growing anything for me since I don't have a proper greenhouse (just a stainless steel shelving unit greenhouse) or big enough windowsill!
