I need a long rectangular planter 6ft length in length- to fit a space in the garden. I will get the local timber yard to make it, but don't know what width it should be. In your opinion what width would be best? I think maybe 1ft is too narrow and maybe 2ft would need an awful lot of compost? - but would appreciate advice please Cornerers. Going to be either colourful summer bedding, or else a rockery, Not sure yet.

I would say go for 2ft but it won't need to be too deep for annuals or rockery plants.

Ok thank you, will do. :blue thumb: It's all plotting & planning & asking questions just now, but I can get started on the planting at the end of this month. Got some orders coming from Farmer Gracey and the local plant nursery will have more in by then as well.
