    Hiya all

Wife and I are currently clearing an overgrown section of the garden to put a greenhouse there.

The area will accommodate an 8'x6' greenhouse and there are slabs already laid that have been there some years, but with all the overgrowing, a lot of weeds have come through in-between. I've lopped them all off at the base with a shovel, but I can't get to the roots. Slabs are old council type ones, probably 2" thick and heavy.

After the area has been cleared, I plan to jet wash the slabs and treat the area with weedkiller to kill all the weed roots before assembling the greenhouse.

We just wonder if this prior weedkiller treatment will be okay and wont be harmful to whatever my wife will grow in there once it's built.

    Thanks in advance

Trouble with weedkiller, depending on what you use, is that you need top growth to absorb it.

That goes for substances like glyphosate, I dont think I'd want to use any of the so called, total weedkillers in a greenhouse, that is the stuff normally used on paths etc.

So, personally I'd would not have lopped off the weed top growth first, I would have sprayed with glyphosate before doing that.

Hmm Pete has a point so let them get a few leaves back and then spray off with weedkiller but be careful with it.!
Or they do say that several applications of vinegar will kill the weeds off, not tried it myself but defo worth a try for your greenhouse area..
