Problem With Hedging Shrub

Hello,
We have a hedge about twelve feet long and eight feet high made up of laurel, red robin, holly and the problem one. Cant remember what variety it is, it seems all the leaves have turned a sort of light to mid brown with darker brown patches. There is no leave drop, its been this way for a couple off years but seems to be gettting worse.

Sorry, but shrubs and trees tend to hold on to dead leaves when they're dead or dying. Scratch the bark on a couple of branches and stems. If it's green underneath it's still alive.

 

Oh yes its still alive the branches are light green when you trim them back but all the leaves are now a light to middle brown and some are falling off the shrub. Is this a fungal issue and can you tell from the leaf shape what shrub this is? They have some sort of herbally menthol type of scent.

I'm sorry I don't recognise the leaves in their current state. Are there any on the shrub that are still green? If it was a fungal issue I think the leaves would have dropped. It's confusing me that the the branches are still green. Perhaps some of our friends here can help please, @pete @NigelJ @JWK @noisette47.

 

I was thinking 'Viburnum tinus' but they're not aromatic, AFAIK. Two options, really, take it/them out completely and let the neighbouring shrubs fill in the gaps, or chop them back, removing all the affected material in case it is a fungal problem, and see whether they regenerate with feeding and watering.

 

Wouldn't like to guess other than the leaves look vaguely like some of the larger leaved cotoneasters.
Looks dead to me I'd just cut out all the dead stuff and see what happens.
