I did wonder if blow through would be an issue - no walls or anything on the other side of any of the fences, but the fence panels do have the odd hole here and there and you never know what is on the other side.....

A problem with all fence painting is the possible runs of paint down the other side so the top needs careful painting. :noidea:

      Looking good! :dbgrtmb:

The best ever tool for working close to the ground is a skateboard. I don't know how lawn edging was laid before skateboards were invented

OK, so this was yesterday's update:

Quite pleased with that as the composters are now at least stable and should be easier for use to scoop compost out of them when it is ready.

        Today, has been painting:

We've also got the boards ready to run off from that one (only one board high for the rest) to go around all the borders:

They will hopefully be installed tomorrow.

The B&Q £10 paint/stain seems quite good and I am contemplating whether I carry on with it for the fences. Not good enough for my shed though (my shed is very special to me, and makes my heart Shine ;) so it needs the best paint - I have ordered Ducksback for that this afternoon, and will try to get it done in the next couple of weeks).

I believe most of todays paints/fence treatments are harmless to plants etc.

The modern water based one's are excellent.
I used screwfix 'no nonsense' garden paint and i was very pleased with the product. Two n half litres for £12.99.
Two coats and it covers virtually any previous surface particularly if that surface is old and weathered. You can just see my shed that i painted two years ago behind the acer.

Still bits to do, but getting there....

I need to paint the inside of the step area in the foreground, lay membrane and more slate in there, mow & scarify the lawn, lay top soil to level things in places and then overseed the grass to try to make it look better.

It's coming on well FC. Looking at the edging boards, I'm thinking that a robot mower would be nice but they're not cheap to buy.
