Catherine of Braganza liked a cup of tea. She was the wife of Charles II and Portuguese.

Why can't you see a person's flatulent releases whilst outdoors on a winter day? You can see your breathe so.....

If Donald Trump goes out for a walk on Halloween and sees a pumpkin, does he:

      a) Think people have put a bust of him in the front garden.
      b) Think he is looking into a mirror
      c) Both of the above?

Well, I'm trying to understand them because I only puff pixie dust...:heehee:

Something I've often wondered about is how everybody over there has such big properties and with such a large population, you still have open spaces left to stroll around.

And how can they fit all of those people in the Corrie street houses..... :rolleyespink: oh, right, that's just a soap...:)

Hi Lori, for the size of the UK we have a tiny popullation. Less than 7% of the UK is urban land and if you take parks etc out of it as well you find that only around 5/6 % of the country is actually built on.

Well, @KFF your population is 65 million and ours is 37.. rounding up. The square kilometers of the UK are 242.495K ours is 9.985 million... well, let's discount 50% because of harsh areas just to be more than fair. It still puzzles me how is it that your private properties are so much larger than ours? It seems most members here have fairly large spaces compared to my little plot... 40x110 feet. And my house has a footprint using up lots of it. Very little left for gardening.

Don't get me wrong, I'm envious that it is so much more affordable your side compared to ours. Just can't wrap my head around the whys. ....

Hi Lori, you won't find many people with that size garden in towns over here ( not in the Midlands anyway ).
My garden for example is around 8 x 24 ft.

                  I hope i've got me maths right here ( correct me if i haven't :) )
Yours is 4400 sq ft mine is 192 sq ft.

Yes. I keep seeing these huge gardens here and am impressed. Thanks @KFF for putting things in perspective. ..

I was beginning to feel like peasant stock because it took years to pay it off.

Correcting... my house takes up 1000sf, and so does my driveway...
