      I planted loads of sacrificial lettuce the other day and they were munched completely over night but the downside was that the beans I planted them to protect were also on the menu.

        They need their five a day, perhaps. Good job it was only two :)

            I’m convinced that they just send out a siren call and then wet the appetite of whichever pest it is before it moves on to the main course aka your prized plants. And how do you know how much to plant to ensure all your invited pests are catered for?
