Anyone recommend a good set of secateurs? Sick of my cheapo aldi ones clogging up and sticking!

Felco are considered pretty good, if not the best.
But I've had a pair of Sandvik ones for the last 15yrs and they are still going strong.
Dont think you can get them anymore though.

Really, as with most tools, price is the key, if its cheap, its usually cheap.

Sandvik comes up with Bahco brand now so maybe they were bought out at some point. I have felco and very happy with them (they still jam every now and then, it's just part of gardening)

Not an oil thing, just that plant material occasionally gets clagged

Yes it's the plant material clagging it up that is annoying. And now the mechanism has gone rusty. Not bad for a couple of quid from aldi...lasted a couple of years.

That crossing over of blades, mostly down to how we use them, and sometimes because they are not really as sharp as they could be.

Just one of those things. They can be tightened but sharpening blades is best

I tend to put things down and forget where ive put them, phone, screwdrivers, keys, my head (not screwed on you see) etc.
Ive even found seateurs in my compost heaps in the past so I stick with the cheapies but keep them oiled and sharpen them regularly with a chainsaw file. No problem so far even with some 30p Sianburys ones........;)
