It's over 40 years old but reached that height at least 25 years ago. Usually starts to flower in April and goes through to June (still had a few flowers in July one year).

There really should be a Tinder app for pears. Thought I had it all sussed out getting a Beth last year to make good with the Bon Chretiens, but on checking yesterday, the Beth was still way behind on coming out, and the Bon Chretiens not far off bursting out. Faced with another year of fruitless fortunes, a hunt for a one night stand of sorts was called for, and though I normally avoid B&Q for stuff that have roots, there was this Concorde that was much more advanced than all else. A £16 punt worth taking I suppose, and yet another pot having to be bought. I’ll have more pots than a Le Creuset warehouse if this keeps up…

I have just ordered from a supplier I have used in Spain the following ...

Adenium obessum (I have tried this twice from seed but have given up) ...

      upload_2022-3-21_12-4-40.png

Aptenia cordifolium variegata (the plain variety of this was growing wild here when we bought the cottage and I have tried from seed without success) ...
      upload_2022-3-21_12-5-1.png
Edited to add picture of the Aptenia ...

Have just brought from from Amazon. I have never done one of these before. I am assuming the soil on one side of the garden would be the same as the over side? 26E85BF7-E547-4287-AF41-3696DB126FED.png

74B1DDED-098D-4296-93E4-1802ED603FC7.jpeg This is my favourite purchase. I heard that birds love sunflower hearts so filled it with them and I suddenly got Goldfinches! I could just sit for hours watching all the birds. E218C45C-8580-4D30-9869-0A55BDAB8F75.jpeg

This little fella was for sale in Aldi for £4.99. I just had to bring him home.

I bought these faux panels for an experiment. I thought £25 for 6 60x40 panels was worth a punt. I am rather chuffed with the outcome. If I paint the cupboard green it should all blend together nicely. Of course I still need another 10 panels to finish the job.

Exactly the one I have, mine is just budding up nicely.

Bought another Mangave to day "mission to mars", not sure how they come up with these names.

It looked like the most exciting one. Do you have a photo of yours in bloom?

Wow, can't wait to get mine. I searched back and saw you got something from Madeira, I guess this? My last order from them was slow, about two weeks for me.

I have this picture in my mind of Madeira, a few donkeys roaming around and people snoozing in the shade of the midday sun.
Now I know that is probably totally wrong;) but I think mine took about a month to arrive, it was in good condition, and just a 6ins long cutting with roots.
                        Flowered the following year.
I dont think they are an option anymore for the UK, but I've not checked.
