@pete Makita is a good brand. My pole saw is electric and even though the cord can be a nuisance, it sure can cut through things!

 

I have got a smaller chainsaw on an extending pole, but often it gets stuck on anything of any size being difficult to control at length.

 

I've bought some spring flowering bulbs that were reduced to 25p/pack from £land.

The 'Glory of the Snow' (Chionodoxa) in the pots I planted the Cyclamen in a short time ago. They won't bother the Cyclamen during the winder & will give a nice display in the spring!

These arrived today , I got 2 lots of 10 bargain basement packs ( random packs of seeds for £3.50 ish) some interesting one and some not so much. Verbascum Olympicum and clematis flammula are ones I bought individually

 

Spiral Aloe sounds interesting, nice looking plant

 

I tried Aloe pollyphilla seeds a couple of years ago, the instructions said germinate in water.
I only had a few a couple started to shoot but I lost them trying to move them to compost.
It's a nice plant.
I see they class it as hardy not 100% as I understand it.

 

The recent Plant fair yielded a Hamamelis 'Ajan', orange and red flowers and supposed to be smelly . Then a Clematis triternata rubromarginata to replace a useless variegated, pink Jasmine that doesn't flower. Alstroemeria Psittacina variegata (no idea where I'm going to put it!), Penstemon 'Sour Grapes', Agapanthus Black Pantha, then lots of little pots of perennials to fill a big space on a semi-shady bank. Going for pink, orange and lime, so Anemone 'September Charm', a low-growing orange Echinacea, Gailliarda, Kniphofia 'Limelight', Saponaria and Alchemilla mollis. I've scattered seed of Cosmos, Lime green Nicotiana and Godetia too.
Oh and another lemon tree....a Meyer this time

 

That's quite a haul @noisette47 and like your choice of plants - and the colour scheme.

 

Good going @noisette47 ! I recommend that clematis - the dainty flowers seem to last for ages, and I got a little second flush of them

 

Being terribly organised (for once) I'll plant the 200 pink hyacinth bulbs and assorted tulips at the same time. Now I've got access to some lovely mulch, it might fool the squirrels and assorted rodents

 

I've bought some more small bulbs from £land!

I bought them all for £1! 25p each! If they still have any left next time I'm in town I'll get a few more!
I'll see about planting them after I've taken the tomatoes down & put the big round table up in its usual corner & put the mini-greenhouse on it.

Though the bulbs seen alright the "proof of the pudding is in the eating" as they say or rather the proof of the bulbs is in the flowering
