"Our birds" took over a week to find it and it was the starlings first, they seem the bravest. But once they were at it, some blue tits followed. I had to be careful dismantling it as it's made of very thing plastic. A case of taking a thin bladed screwdriver to the several lugs underneath. I also had to cut the cable. Once I'd made my alteration, the top snapped back into the base easily enough. I've used strong garden wire presently as a support. I might try to fix it so it doesn't swing much.

Nipped in wilko today to get some chicken manure, couldn't resist picking up some echinops, eryngium, some garderner's delight toms and a iris which looks absolutely gorgeous!

Sad :frown:, the only thing I've bought today is milk.

          1CC59E97-EA85-4DD4-A423-73E98EE0283F.jpeg I have a very considerate postman.

However, I don’t have a greenhouse, found my plants in my house shaped mini growhouse.

          4 Heleniums!

I bought 8.76 tonne of organic compost from our recycling centre! Delivered this morning. ALL I now have to do is dig it in... (along with a lot of alpine grit) CompostSm.jpg

Got quite a pile there, Caroline. Does it come with an equal pile of willing volunteers with shovels?

Sadly no @Moley - but I'm sure I will develop some muscle tone after shifting it :)

                    Looks great compost CarolineL :)

My whole garden is now covered with a thick layer of compost.....the lawn too was top dressed with it yesterday. Mulching has to be the best treatment for any garden I think:)

Impromptu trip to the nearest Wyevale garden centre and found the perfect pots to sit on the kitchen windowsill - hopefully with our cut and come again lettuce in. Last one in the shop, half-price and it even matches the colour of the walls and the toaster.

Stopped at Wimpy on the way home for a bit or two of nostalgia too. Fun day.

I spy what looks like 3 plants so I'm thinking I'll split them, they would be very small though, what would you do?

I wouldn't split them yet @Loki , if you do split them now it very unlikely they will flower this year , stick them in the garden and have a look again in June if you want to split them.
