Thought I'd share with you some of what's flowering, but it had to be bright and summery. It hits me that nearly all the plants I include are from the Southern hemisphere.

First this Escallonia was growing wild in woodland edge (these do naturalise occasionally along with Rhododendron as you can see), looking a little tropical against the blue sky!

Some Valerian providing a backdrop to the river.

Lampranthus spectabilis (south African succulent) in lower town

Lonely Aeonium 'Schwartzkopf' poking out from the Geraniums

    Delospermum spp

    Osteospermum

    Drosanthemum spp.

    Lampranthus coccinea

    Lampranthus coccinea and Carpobrotus acinaciformis

Osteospermums on steroids I think !

    Another Osteospermum

Good performance from Escallonia rubra this year

    More Lampranthus spectabilis
