Like many good workers, Santa is so often taken for granted. Let's take a moment to consider Santa's efforts.

    * He is way past retirement age, yet he still has to work to earn a living.
    * In the last 100 years or so, while the rest of the world has seen the introduction of computers, excellent road networks, ships that don't rely on the wind and have satellite navigation, jet aircraft cheap enough to be used for carrying freight, innumerable haulage firms large and small, yet Santa has still be left with his outdated dilapidated sleigh pulled by a team of half starved reindeers.
    * In the last 100 years, his work load in terms of the number of people he has to deliver for in one night has increased five fold, yet has he been given five times as much time to complete his round? Does he get five times the pay? No.
    * In addition to the above, the world has seen a drastic shift towards consumerism, so each delivery is now much larger than it used to be. The small hand made peg doll or toy bow and arrow has been replaced by a bike, two games consoles, a smart phone, a tablet PC, and innumerable other gadgets that will be broken within days.
    * He can't even cheat on his round any more, since NORAD started tracking his every move. The poor lad can't even stop off for a coffee with the ocassional bored house wife on his route any more because of that.
    * And to add insult to injury, most people nowadays even refuse to accept that he even exists.

So folks, show your appreciation this year. Remember to leave a few pies out and a drop of brandy, and something for the poor hungry exhausted reindeers too.

Yeah but Santa is magic.....he can do all that in one night...besides there must be some kind of magic in him because when he comes here and has had a bite from the mince pie there's always glitter left on the plate....my dad says it's off his beard.........he's been telling me that for the last 48 years:dbgrtmb:
