It wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't had such a dire summer, but I'm totally fed up of Autumn already. Admittedly it's the most depressing season to me, but made worse when it's preceded by an almost non existent, soggy summer (feels almost an insult to even call it that)

If only I could go into hibernation until the end of Feb

    Anyone else?

Might have to, they just forecast the coldest winter for 100 years, dropping to -20c.

Ziggy's always full of "good news":snork: You're right, Merelworld, the miserable Summer makes the Autumn more protracted and the prospect of a Winter as well even more dismal.:dunno:

The daily Express seems to find the most dire weather conditions forecast, and then print it. They seem to have a bunch of weather forecasting nerds who seem to think they can look into a crystal ball and tell us what's going to happen in three months time.
Not known them to be wrong, but then next week they will be saying we are going to get floods.;)
I've hated Autumn ever since I was a kid, so nothing new here.
I even prefer Winter to Autumn, at least you know where you stand in Winter.

Mind you, since "Global warming"(LOL), took effect we only get two seasons, Winter and Autumn.

Talking about winter on another forum, a chap there said he doesn't get winter, but he did moan about the mongoose season. I suppose its because they bite.

Agreed, last 'summer' was awful here in Manchester which is usually grey and dull anyway :( I'm praying along with the rest of you guys for a sunny 2013, but I'm not holding my breath on that one! Spring appears to be our summer these days!

we had a nice crisp sunny day today, I love it to be out early when the sun is still very low, frosty dew on the lawns, everything is sparkling and the remaining yellow leaves are really vivid in colour

and even if its murky you can have a nice cupa, light some candles and make a cosy afternoon in the kitchen, preferably after digging in the boggy and cold garden ;-)

well, the summer was awful indeed, but you have to make the best of whatever comes
