    Hi,

Just been asked a question but did not know the answer and that was how easy is it to grow them from seed and which are the best trailers, Surfinias ?

As they are novices wondering if buying in mini plug plants might be easier for them ?
( though we could start the seeds off for them in our props )

I thought surfinias were not a seed strain, or at least they didn't used to be.

If it's for this year then plug plants are the way to go, as pete says it's too late to sow. Surfinas are only propagated from cuttings, it's not possible to get seed from them. From what I remember petunias were easy from seed but took a long time, the seed was so expensive it was as cheap to get plugs.

Thanks all, they were looking to growing them next year as its cost them so much this year with all their hanging baskets.

Did not realise certain types were not sold as seeds ?

We have overwintered some good trailers, not sure if they are Surfinias, but do not really want the same ones each year so mix them with some new colours.
