I just thought I`d start a thread on the TV gardening prog`s we all watch and discuss or recommend anything that`s came up on them.

I`ve just watched Gardeners World from the other night and there was a piece on a ladys garden. Kate MacRae is her name and I suspect she may have been discussed on here before. She has a beautiful garden and 19 live webcams showing the wildlife. Amazing and here is the link to her website.

Highly recommend you have a peek :)

    Enjoy!!!!!! :dbgrtmb:

We've taken to watching Beechgrove Garden (BBCScotland2, Sky990) on Thursday evening 7.30, following a pointer from GC.
It's more down to earth than GW, although we watch Monty & Co. as well.
I also used to like Christine Walkden, although she seems to have become Persona non Grata (maybe it's the lack of BBC accent?
Geoff Hamilton's repeats are also welcome when they appear.
Stefan Buczacki I couldn't get away with, although OH liked him.

Ahhh the Beechgrove. Fit like min! Just this minute finished although I had it on, I wasn`t really paying attention to it.

I seem to remember Stefan Buczacki having a plant health type programme some years ago.

A repeat of last year's do you think? or a new series? I wasn't mega-enamoured with last years, but I guess I would still watch him as otherwise I might miss a gem!

I've stopped watching these programmes due to them (I.M.H.O.) far too trendy and have forgotten / overlooking instructing on the basics. Before I gave up I would watch the start to see what was "coming up in the next half hour" and find the item I thought worthy of clawing my way through the luvvy stuff for was dealt with in such a short and condescending way. . . .Cheers, Tony.

Stefan Buczaki wrote a book about the best climbers for your garden some years ago. He recommended Jasminum beesianum as a good thing to plant.

I followed his advice and have since concluded that That Man knows nothing about gardening.

Yeah, he was the king. Subtly alternative and anti-establishment, hands-on, unpretentious, and tuned in to the spirtual aspect of gardening.

Or am I just showing my age here?
