Can I move this plant now? I mean today - it's quite a big plant and my son is here today and willing to do it, but he's leaving at 12. Here is the link: It's too close to a leylandii hedge and is not thriving, and I'm scared I lose it.

Yes. It can be moved late winter or early spring.

I didnt realise about leylandii when I planted it. I have lost so many shrubs in that damn border - and I even used to buy the mature ones so that they would have a better chance. All of them died. So stupid :(

Good idea to move it :blue thumb: We have leylandi at the bottom of the garden, so I do know what you mean. The previous owners put it up for privacy from the house at the back as the fence panels were around 4’ our side as the land slopes down their side. We have decking in front of the leylandii hedge so we don’t have a problem with plants. We also cut the leylandii to a manageable height.

It belongs to next door and we both chop bits off it when it gets too high. To dig it out would take more strength and muscle than we have or she has, so it has to stay  We moved the plant this morning in the rain, and it still looks quite happy so far..
