Garden centres sometimes have wallflowers at this time of year so try a Wyevale, perhaps? :dunno: I do recall seeing some spent wallflowers on a sale table there a year or two back, so they must have had them for ready for selling before they flowered.

I sowed wallflower seeds July 2016 which I then thinned out in September 2016. Had a gorgeous show of them last year (2017). Most I pulled up, but I left a few in place (no rhyme or reason to it, it just happened that way) and forgot to sow seed last July  The ones I forgot to pull up last year are looking likely to put on a good show this year; not bad getting two years out of them, I think

I too like you WOO LUV Wallflowers and like nothing better than their gorgeous fragrance. :wub2:
I do sow my own seeds but also i strike wallflower cuttings the same way as in this video. With them being Biennial, obviously a lot of time can be saved with this method- so it's a big plus to be able to have a continued supply

Hi @BeeHappy yes I have quite a collection they do tend to get a little straggly in the 3rd year but a little pruning soon teaches them to behave;):blue thumb:

My late father in law grew wallflowers for many years (over 40 years) and would have them sown so that they would be planted out in August/September time ready for flowering in the spring. He never had them as plants for putting in the ground in winter as the soil was far too cold and the roots of the plants wouldn’t have grown in such conditions.

Having said that we have wallflowers in our front garden that must be the perennial sort as we dug up a few plants from our old garden sixteen years when we moved here, and they flower every year and as I type we have seedlings that have self set which have germinated but I don’t expect these to be tall enough to flower until at least next Spring/Summer depending on what mood they are in.

We haven’t even seen any plants for sale in our local Wyevale GC this winter as they were all sold last Autumn, unless I missed them when I was housebound recently. You might find them in displays with other spring plants in pots but doubt if you could buy plug plants now but I could be wrong:smile:
