Shiney.Glad you had a good day, though I think I would have preffered the National History Museum instead, as I love all the nature stuff.

I went there years ago with family members, but we had to rush round as we were going on to see Russ Abbott at the Palladium, but I could have spent the whole weekend there.

Glad you had a good day though. [IMG]

That's better Rosa. That is the size I meant. They should have gone up at six this morning, but don't know whether they did.

Still wet out there, though it has stopped raining for once.

I cannot understand why me and Shiney are the only ones to see the lion/sheep.
Follow the pillar from the bottom, and on the top is a small blob. His head is facing to the left.
It could be a lion as the head looks about the right size.

I think Fancy's avatar is interesting,as I cannot make head nor tale as to what it is supposed to be. I can see some greenery and that is all..

Hi Kandy (and all you wonderful Babes)
I don't understand why the others can't see the lion - maybe it is the size of their screen that is the trouble. I was not sure about using the word 'size' as women and men have a different idea of what size is!! ;) ;) :D :D .

The National Portrait Gallery was good because we had an art historian taking us round and explaining about the pictures. He is a cousin of mine and once a year he invites the family on a tour of a different art gallery. There were about 25 of us. He picks a theme and just takes us to specific pictures and tells us about the artist, the gossip of the period, the stories about the subject in the picture and the myths or unproven 'facts' that everyone thinks about the picture. He is very good and so enthusiastic about his subject that he brings the whole thing alive. We have a couple of cousins that always come over from the USA for his talks.

Sounds interesting Shiney.I like paintings that look like what they are meant to.

I am not one who can look at Picasso's work and think it's brilliant.I like to be able to look at a painting and feel like if it was an animal,it would come alive,as it would be so realistic. The detail on some of them makes the painting look more like a photo, than a piece of art work.Give me David Shepherd any day, though he does like his elephants.

Glad you enjoyed the day though, and hope the weather was a bit better than it was here.At least you were able to spend the day with family members. How do you stay awake for 22 hours?

Yes Shiney.Big is Big and Small is Small [IMG]

I can finally see it - but it's more like a big dog!!
Have tried to post larger size, but it keeps reverting to the original mini-version I ahd to do for the avatar, despite deleting and uploading again. Will try again tomorrow. BTW - it helps if you squint at it a bit....
