'it's a jungle out there' well, the exotic bed looks a bit like one as the Canna has almost disappeared between the Butia and Trachy. The Chamaerops cerifera underneath has turned more blue this summer.

Our Sorbus grows steadly each year.

Lots of berries have followed the blossom.

The tree azaleas have regained their places on the round stepping stones on the lawn. I replaced them with a couple of roses once the blooms faded, but now I've painstakingly removed all the dead flowers, they are are back to their attractive selves.

The slugs have mullered mine this year!

What do they taste like? I put figs in my porridge.

I've just spotted flowers forming on some of mine.

Alstroemeria isabella "Fred Meyer" is finally in bloom! Very, very late though................

I did have a label for this Agapanthus but is has gone................

It's an evergreen and slightly tender. I wasn't expecting it to bloom this year as it was a division from a friend earlier this year. Not the greatest inflorescence (by any stretch of the imagination) but nice to see anyway........

Not keen on figs, hence they are going in the wine :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Had a plectranthus flower earlier in the year under glass, these ones seem reluctant, do they like short days?

In total shade, looks really healthy, just no flowers.

The swainsona is flowering even more now - the flowers are amazingly fleshy and large. Plenty of buds to come too. SturtPea6Sm.jpg

@CarolineL I know, but these are always early on this bank. The first flowers were opening at the beginning of August.

Hi Caroline there's an interesting piece on outdoor hardy Cyclamen in this weeks Amateur Gardening. I didn't know , but you can have them flowering all year round.

Variegated double Oleander not flowering particularly well considering the weather but nice to see (and smell).
