    They might be ok at 65f, its not as low as I thought you was going to say, and might be better to have slower germination, I wouldn't have sown them for a couple on months here, but I guess your growing conditions are different.:smile:

      Hi,

      With the outside temperature hovering around freezing all day I decided to give the garden a miss. This afternoon I decided to blow the leaves from the patio and paths so wandered down to the workshop to collect my 18V Makita battery charger; the blower is cordless and uses this battery which needed charging.

      The battery had been in the rear extension a couple of days and with no heating on it too was around freezing. The battery a LITHIUM refused to charge; I tried three times and each time the charger fired up then quickly died?

      I brought the battery into the warm front room leaving it there until just now when I've tried charging it again. It's now charging without problem. I'm aware electric cars have battery problems in sub zero temperature but this has been a good example.

      It's my wife Bron's (Bronwyn) birthday tomorrow and when I asked what she'd like me to buy her; anything at all she replied I'd love you to make me an apple pie for my birthday; Bron has everything else she needs or even wants.

      It's taken all afternoon to bake my first apple pie it's 10" diameter taking 1kg of bramley apples; I got myself into all kinds of trouble but I didn't give in;

      Apple pie_0001.JPG
      First attempt and although it took hours to make it turned out OK in the end; I forgot to glaze and add a sprinkling of sugar but this will be fine tomorrow with some custard.

      It's been another steep learning curve for me but next time I can do better now I've gained a bit of experience. I recently made pancakes for the first time now I find pancakes easy and quick to make.

      When I can't work outdoors I still keep busy learning new skills indoors. Not gardening but I dislike not being active.

      Kind regards, Colin.

                    Hi,

                    Bron says a big thank you to you @Balc and @Logan it's so kind of you both and thank you from me too. :dbgrtmb:

                    Still dark; wet and cold so I'm heading into the studio for a violin practice; I turned the studio heat on early this morning so it should be cosy by now. :)

                    Kind regards, Colin.

                        Not my garden, but itching to do a bit of weeding round the palms, bougies, Allemandas and loads of other as yet unidentified flowering shrubs :biggrin:. I'll be keeping you busy with requests for IDs, @ pete , @ Strongylodon and @Victoria :)
