@noisette47, I have put them in pots for the moment, intending to work out later if I want them in the border, but perhaps they can stay in the pots!

I did the same but on a 25 year-old Jasmine officinale that regularly puts out 10' stems in all directions. I felt a bit guilty cos' everything I cut off was still lovely and green, but it'll bounce back soon enough. Good to get the shredder out again!

Today I planted a row of 5 Calamagrostis Karl Foerster in the bed above the low sandstone wall in my front garden and topped it off with some bark. I moved a couple of Geums around in my back garden and planted 3 Berberis Orange Rocket and a Cotoneaster, removing a scruffy Lavender to make some room. The Berberis is narrow and upright so it should provide a good contrast with some of my grasses and evergreen shrubs. After some heavy rain this morning, which wasn’t forecast, the lawn was quite soggy so I tried to avoid walking on it. I suspect I’ll be battling with moss again this year :thud:.

Tidied up a big pile of prunings into two piles one for shredding and one for bits too big for the shredder.
Pruned another buddleja and dead headed a few things.
Picked up a few pots and trays that had been blown around.

Thanks for the warning. The neighbourhood cats like to poo on my front lawn, I'll make sure I don't put any comfy ornamentals in!

Not doing much at the moment i had a fall and bruised my left shoulder, left leg and badly grazed my left elbow. When walking river i stepped sideways and fell off the pavement on my left side, the elbow got it first.

It was a clear bright day (though the soil was still claggy) so I trimmed off the old hellebore leaves that I should have done earlier, and chopped off dry stems on herbaceous plants that are already showing activity. It looks a bit tidier now - but the weeds show up more!

@Logan please look after yourself! I keep a nice solid wooden stick to lean on when I'm out in muddy conditions. But keeping on walking (slowly :rolleyespink:) will help - I pulled some muscles last year and found I seized up if I didn't keep going.

Ski sticks! They're wonderful on slippery ground. Also look good quite casually leaning up against the back door giving folks the impression that ski-ing is/was a huge part of your life dahling :roflol:

A few years ago I slipped on ice and fell on my side. I could not use my arm and it went purple. I went to A&E as my GP wouldn't see me due to covid. I was given exercises and a sling. When I raised my arms one shoulder was several inches higher than the other! The exercises worked and now I'm almost fully functional apart from pulling the cord on the mower. It can jolt and be painfull again, so I have to use two arms to pull the cord. It is always best to use the injured part so it doesn't freeze. Hope you're feeling better @Logan.

I have just been out dealing with some of the rainwater that's collected in multiple containers. It feels very wasteful to be pouring such lovely fresh, clean water down the drain, but my storage system (2 plastic dustbins) is already full.
